The Council for the Advancement of Forensic Genealogy (CAFG) is the credentialing body governing the ForensicGenealogistCredentialedSM credential (which is abbreviated as FGCSM). Membership in good standing in CAFG as an Advanced member is a requirement for application.
The CAFG credential process is only available to Senior Members. The process includes short answer, document analysis, essay, report and affidavit writing. This comprehensive process ensures the applicant is a well-rounded forensic genealogist.
